ICYMI: Border Security Alliance Testifies in Support of Regulating Dangerous Vaping Products

Phoenix, AZ—Yesterday, Border Security Alliance President Jobe Dickinson testified before the Arizona Senate Public Safety Committee in support of S.B. 1272, which requires manufacturers of vapor products sold in Arizona to be certified by the Department of Liquor Licenses and Control and for the department to establish a directory of approved vapor products.

Many of these illicit vape products are manufactured in China to strategically target young Americans. These illicit products are then smuggled into the country via mislabeled packaging through ports of entry, into local stores, and into the hands and mouths of young teens.

"We have seen Chinese vape manufacturers exploit America's understaffed U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency by smuggling their illicit products into the United States through mislabeled shipments, allowing their illegal disposable vapes to evade federal regulations and infiltrate local markets, " said Jobe Dickinson, President of the Border Security Alliance. "This rapid expansion of the illicit vaping market presents a severe threat, particularly to young teenagers, exposing them to unregulated and potentially dangerous substances. The federal government has failed to address this growing threat, which is why we need to empower states to enforce the critical safety regulations in place to protect America's youth from lifetimes of addiction."
